Guidelines for Parents, Riders, Spectators, and Managers

All Riders/Parents/Managers/Spectators,

The BMX executive wanted to address a few concerns of late that are causing problems on race nights.  The following was discussed and will be implemented immediately for the safety of all riders and spectators at the track.

  1. No parents, managers, riders, or spectators are allowed to stand at the top of the starting hill with the exception of volunteers working the track, those parents helping children in the 5 and under category and those riders who are in the gates or ready in staging.
  2. No parents, managers, riders, or spectators are to be on the track or running across the track during races for any reason.  If a rider goes down, first-aid will be on scene.  if there is a need for the parent on the track, they will be called by the first-aid responder.
  3. No bicycles should be present at the Moto sheets during posting of the moto sheeds, nor should bikes be present for the riders meeting unless it is being held in the staging area.
  4. No parents, managers, riders, or spectators are to be in or around the finish line at any time during the races.
Exception: The only exceptions to this rules are when the parent(s) volunteering at the track at the same time as the races are going on.  These riders will be allowed to be with their parents but no bicycles or gear are allowed in and around the stations.
The ultimate goal is to have enough people traned in the positions to allow for one parent to be free throughout the races to be in the spectator area with their riders/children.  if you would like to speed up this process and learn a position to help out, please come see a member of the executive.
Parking:
All vehicles should be parked in the parking lot at all times.  The only exception is when a vehicle is being used for the drop off or pick-up of track equipment or the need to use the vehicle as a power source for the track to run external devises.  Dropping off bikes is not a reason to drive down the path to the track.
Spectators:
As soon as the brush and weeds are cleared away from the fence line, all spectators will be required to be on the outside of the fence (between the fence of the baseball field and the fence line of the track).  This will be implemented prior to the Provincial Qualifer so the sooner all spectators get used to this new viewing area the better and safer this will be for all.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak with Marty, Reg, or Kevin T.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
